For you newbs, it was a texmod prank about a new shield long before anyone had texmod :P

I only realized it was texmod because its one of the available mods on wiki >.< im so slow
It wasn't done using texmod.

If you look at the texmod readme file, texmod was released on 19.04.2006. The terror shield prank was earlier than that(dec 2005).

I remember hearing once before that if you have any female heroes or members in your party, along with Mhenlo, he'll rarely heal any of the male heroes or members. Lately, it feels that way, significantly in Eye of the North.

my guild likes this one:
If you get both legendary survivor and and protector of ascolon you also get the "i'm the son of Chuck Norse" title.

if your drunk at lvl 5 you start to see pixies at the top of the screen

arcane echo makes any skill twice as good (oh already does that)

if lvl up 980 times after reaching lvl 20 you gain 1 attribute point making you better then everyone else in the whole game

It definitely used to be true, that was one of the main reasons why people did FoW and other chest runs in full groups, to spread the cost of keys and such. First person gets a purple = everyone saves a key.

Well there was a popular build (i didn't remove dp, but it prevented it from going over 15%)
Unyielding Aura + Divine intervention, it was a must on 1 monk if you wanted to enter fow or uw at that time.

LOL, the Z chest is starting a lot of urban legends. Here's one:

I sent my Elementalist, The Amethyst Mage to open the chest with 2 keys. She got an Elite Ele Tome and an Amethyst Aegis. (That's true! It really happened)

Soooo, ya think the chest tailors the drops to the character? I'm creating a PvP warrior, Everlasting Eternal to open the chest from now on.

Extremely poor damage, quite minor overall prot - with nothing spammable to abuse SR and Feast. Not to mention the terrible choice of res. It's bad.

Nice old thread. The one UL i heard is that FOW end chest drops everlasting tonics and that is why prices go down with time since there is more and more of them on the market...

I once played with a guy who swore that it was best to open chests only on Wednesday because that was the day ANet did server maintenance. One of the things they did during the maintenance was to refill all the chests, so your best chance of getting good stuff was just after they were refilled.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'm getting sick of seeing people in Rata Sum trying to fill up groups for solo raptor farming because they think it improves their drops.

[QUOTE=Griff Mon;3313614][QUOTE=max gladius]Not saying ur wrong, just pointing out fact / idea behind their nonsense.... the longer they live the more degen they receive...

That where this belief may have started because people were keeping their minions alive for so long that the degen rate would just go through the roof. There have been many times where I am running around with ten minions and they all drop in the first few seconds of combat becaue I kept them alive too long. Fresh kills, fresh kills.......
it caps at 10.

OP's story, 2 part solution:
1. Divorce
2. Rage quit life.

LOL that was SOOOO much fail, wow OP great story hahahaha.

The weirdest "belief" I've come across is that this one dude kept dropping his loot on the ground after picking them up, and then picks them up again...I could've ninjaed his loot but there were no golds :/

I used to joke about something similar, though.

"MHENLO! STOP TAKING CARE OF CYNN AND HEAL THE REST OF US!"

I used to think there are moderators in these forums moving threads, closing them and banning people. Then I realized that shutdown mesmers are causing them from the game.

Believed for many months that a ranger could charm a flock of flamingos in Nightfall - Wasn't I disappointed.

"Guild looking for members - Cool Cape." Bah! all a matter of opinion a guild that has to mention a 'cool cape' to recruit usually has one that is anything but.

Oh and a guild that shall remain nameless believed that the insignia (beer mug) meant they got more drops of alcohol than any other guild.
